Sunz Detective Agency - an Infinity RPG Adventure

Image
I'm playing Infinity!  I finally managed to find a play group. We're a bunch of freelancers subcontracted by a renowned detective agency to solve problems that official channels can't satisfactorily solve.  The current mission takes place in equatorial Africa, at the foot of the Beanstalk, an enormous space elevator that brings goods and people to and from the surface of the Earth and into Earth orbit.  The game is played entirely online, and asynchronously (Play-by-Post), but I thought it would be fun to paint up the team, if only as a great excuse to get some of my Dire Foes HVTs painted up. Here they are.  I hope the other players like 'em! Which one is your favorite! Lo An, Underworld Fixer Mewcular, Expert Hacker Saito, Actual Ninja Samira, Irresistible Odalisque Vik, Wulver Heavy

The Dire Foes Series: Mission Pack 3, Dark Mist

Dire Foes 3: Dark Mist The first of the series that I've started and finished all in one go, DF3 is also a latecomer to my collection, as I have neither JSA nor Caledonians. Nevertheless, I'm glad I picked it up, as all three minis were terrifically interesting to paint!  All three of these figures were painted with Citadel Contrast and Speed Paints, as well as Kimera Kolors single-pigment acrylics.  Comm-Tech HVT Yuriko Oda, JSA Operative  Isobel McGregor, Caledonian Operative

Mercenaries of the Human Sphere 1: Zellenkreigers

Famous cage fighters on the Aristeia circuit can sometimes find extra work as hired combatants in combat zones, where their martial skills are always put to good use, not to mention their cybernetic, genetic and biological upgrades.  Denma Connolly Pavel Kreik  B9 2MR From stls by Unit9. Speed and Contrast paints, Kimera Kolors.

The Dire Foes Series: Mission Pack 2, Fleeting Alliance

I started Mission Pack 2 when I needed some characters for a solo game I was playing, leaving me just Thrasymedes to finish the set.  Lupe Balboa Lupe Balboa : Citadel Contrast and Army Painter Speed Paints, Vallejo Model Color. I just had to have all of the Alguiciles, for some reason.  Marine Engineering Officer Marine Engineering Officer:  Citadel Contrast and Army Painter Speed Paints , Vallejo Model Color.  Chandra Thrasymedes Sgt.  Chandra Thrasymedes: Army Painter Speed Paints, Gamblin Oils, Kimera Kolors. A little more effort went into this guy ;)

The Dire Foes Series: Mission Pack 1, Train Rescue

Here's the first Dire Foes set, from Corvus Belli's Infinity tabletop game.  Treitak Anyat Citadel Contrast and opaque paints, Army Painter Speed Paints, Vallejo Model Color.  Fusilier Indigo Bipandra  Kimera Kolors single pigments (9-color palette); Williamsburg, Gambin and Old-Holland oil washes. ( Sadly this figure was brush-primed, so has a very rough surface.)    Fusilier Angus Army Painter Speed Paints, Citadel Contrast Paints,  Kimera Kolors single pigments (9-color palette); Williamsburg, Gambin and Old-Holland oil washes. I found that having a speed-paint color key really sped up my process.  To represent Angus' indefatigable optimism, I painted him with rose-tinted glasses :)

Umbra Legates and Noctifer

Image
The last two dudes for my Onyx 'beginner' list:  1. An Umbra Legates Lieutenant. Really cool model but I've never had reason to use him before. I hope he works out!  2. An OG Noctifer with a Missile Launcher. This dude came with a set of stairs, but I wanted him on a techy base that the stone staircase didn't go with, and also I think the version of Infinity he was for used true LOS? I'm not sure but I am certain that I'm cheesy and petty enough to want to shave a couple mm of a mini for a mechanical advantage. Anyway, I think he still looks cool, as do most of the first version Shasvastii.  I thought about adding a camo scheme to this guy's cloak, 'cause he's so sneaky, but ain't nobody got time for that, right?

My First TAGs: Xeodrons

Xeodrons! Tough little elemental nuggets of alien aggression. They don't show up in Defiance until the first expansion, but I look forward to fielding them with my Combined Army forces in the meantime!
